Kamala Harris landed in Munich on Thursday.
The US Vice President was received by Markus Söder, among others - he brought a gift.
Munich – The security conference in Munich is coming up.
From February 16th to 18th, high-ranking politicians from all over the world will meet in the state capital.
The Vice President of the USA, Kamala Harris, arrived on Thursday - and was received at the airport by Prime Minister Markus Söder.
Söder welcomes Kamala Harris to the Siko at Munich Airport - “I was very happy”
“Welcome to Bavaria: We welcome US Vice President @kamalaharris under a white-blue sky in her blue-white Air Force Two at Munich Airport,” writes the CSU boss about several photos on Instagram.
The first shows him giving Harris a gift.
“She was very happy about the gingerbread heart,” reports Söder.
Bavaria and the USA are close friends and partners.
“We are Brothers in Arms,” says Söder, who is proud that the conference “always takes place in Bavaria.”
State Chancellor Florian Herrmann was also there when Harris arrived.
He had balloons in the Bavarian colors with him, as a photo shows (click to the right in the Instagram post).

Söder gives Kamala Harris a gingerbread heart: “He’ll shoot her a teddy in a minute”
“Great gesture,” someone praises the gift.
“No wonder all Americans think Germany looks like Bavaria everywhere and everyone wears traditional costumes and eats pretzels,” writes an Instagram user with a salmon smiley.
“He’s about to shoot her another teddy bear,” jokes another person on Twitter.

That's embarrassingly provincial... and that stupid gingerbread heart.
“I’m ashamed of being a stranger,” another person made a completely negative judgment.
“If you look up 'ingratiation' in the dictionary, this post comes up,” reads a similar comment on X (Twitter).
“Poor Ms. Harris and the population will not be spared anything,” can also be read.
