Two young men aged 18 have just been sentenced to six and eight months in prison by the Versailles judicial court.
They were arrested Thursday in Saint-Cyr-l'École (Yvelines) with other people by numerous police officers who suspect them all of destroying the video surveillance cameras of a social residence in the city.
One Sunday in January, in the middle of the night, the police were alerted to the presence of around ten hooded people carrying iron bars in a building lobby.
When they arrive there, the officials check them.
They got their hands on iron bars, placed in the hall, and noticed that several surveillance cameras in the building hall had been damaged.
As they continued their investigations, they discovered other video surveillance devices destroyed in the same street.
Some are even found burned in the green spaces of buildings.
Young people already known to the police
The small gang is then taken to the police station and placed in police custody.
There are young people aged 16 to 18 there, six of whom are known to local police for various offenses.
During their hearing, they denied the facts and were finally released for lack of proof.
