Once again, Seine-et-Marne was chosen to wear the colors of Ile-de-France in the program “The Favorite Village of the French” broadcast on France 3. Since the creation of the program in 2012, This is the seventh time that a commune in the department has been entrusted with the formidable honor of competing against the most beautiful villages in France.
After Maincy, Grez-sur-Loing, Barbizon, Bourron-Marlotte, Samois-sur-Seine and Flagy last year, it is Thomery, located in a loop of the Seine, between Montereau and Melun, on the edge from the Fontainebleau forest, who was selected to represent the Île-de-France region this season.
The choice of the 14 selected villages was revealed this Monday, February 19 at 10 a.m.
To try to win this coveted title, the municipality invites Ile-de-France residents to vote massively for Thomery until March 8 inclusive.
“We are honored and very proud to have been chosen to represent our beautiful region for this 13th edition,” declares Bruno Michel (SE), the mayor of this town of 3,500 inhabitants built on a hillside overlooking the river.
It is a great opportunity for our territory, for our municipality with its undeniable heritage assets, to defend the colors of Île-de-France and to be able to benefit from national visibility.
