When the perpetrator saw that the two young men were taking care of the situation, he fled.
The students then helped the woman up, helped her find her glasses and called the police.
A manhunt initiated immediately by the police led to the desired result - the perpetrator was caught, reports BR.
A few months later he was convicted - he received three years in prison for attempted rape and possession of child pornography.

Students would do this again at any time - even if they had a bad feeling at first
According to the BR, the two students feel very honored to be awarded the prize.
Regarding the incident itself, they stated that they briefly feared that the whole thing might be a trap.
The perpetrator had immediately run away and the woman had asked them to look for their glasses in the grass - so they feared that the other man would steal the racing bikes they had been traveling with.
They still decided to help.
As it turned out in retrospect, it was absolutely the right decision.
