Ukraine receives support from its partners at the security conference in Munich.

But are there new weapons?

The current developments at a glance.

Kiev - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj expressed satisfaction with the support for his country at this year's security conference in Munich.

“Our Ukrainian view of the global agenda was supported by our partners,” he said in his nightly video address.

“It is the first time in its history that Ukraine is experiencing such global solidarity and support.” However, Zelensky did not provide any information about whether new arms deliveries were specifically discussed during his talks in Munich.

He received support for Ukraine in all of his discussions.

“And each of these conversations confirmed the key point as clearly as possible: It is Ukraine that can stop (Russian President Vladimir) Putin and create the conditions for him to be punished for all the evil he has done.” However Ukraine cannot survive this fight against the Russian military alone.

“Support is important, solidarity is important;

Only together, in unity, can we win this war.”

Withdrawal from Avdiivka officially ended

The Ukrainian armed forces have now declared their withdrawal from the city of Avdiivka in the east of the country, which has been heavily fought over for months.

The Ukrainian prosecutor's office responsible for the Donetsk region opened an investigation on Sunday after six wounded Ukrainian soldiers who could not be taken with them during the retreat were allegedly executed when captured by Russian soldiers.

As the investigators further announced on Telegram, they relied on video footage of the alleged crime recorded by drones.

“Since the occupier does not want to let the prisoners live, he deliberately kills them with automatic weapons,” it said.

The information could not be independently verified.

The General Staff in Kiev spoke on Sunday of a difficult operational situation on the fronts in the east and south of Ukraine.

A total of 56 battles were registered on various sectors of the front, the military leadership reported on its Facebook page.

During the course of the Russian attacks, residential areas also came under artillery and rocket fire.

There were deaths and injuries among the civilian population.

This information could not be immediately independently verified.

The Ukrainian armed forces have been fending off a Russian war of aggression for almost two years.

Russia has so far conquered larger areas in the east and southeast of Ukraine.

Russian attacks against bridgeheads on the Dnipro

On Sunday, Russian troops repeatedly attacked the positions of Ukrainian soldiers on the left bank of the Dnipro in the southern Ukrainian region of Kherson.

The Russian side's attempts "failed with high losses for the enemy," it said from Kiev.

Putin sees war in Ukraine as a “matter of life or death”

According to Kremlin chief Putin, Russia considers the situation around Ukraine to be “vital”.

For the West, however, it is just a question of tactics, Putin said on Sunday in an interview on state television, from which the state agency Tass quoted.

While the West is taking tactical positions around Ukraine, for his country it is “a matter of fate, a question of life or death.”

If the West didn't get involved, "the war would have ended a year and a half ago."

“We moved from initially peaceful measures to military instruments and tried to end this conflict peacefully,” claimed Putin, who ordered his armed forces to wage aggressive war two years ago.

Russia is still ready to negotiate a peace solution.

The positions of Moscow and Kiev on a possible peace solution differ widely.

While the Ukrainian leadership insists on the return of all occupied territories, including the Crimean peninsula, Russia wants to keep the conquered territories that have already been integrated into its national territory.

This will be important on Monday

Heavy fighting is expected to continue on the various sectors of the Ukrainian front.

The widow of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny, who died in Russian camp custody, is expected to be a guest at the EU foreign ministers' deliberations in Brussels.

As foreign representative Josep Borrell announced in advance, the ministers want to “send a strong signal of support for the freedom fighters in Russia” at their meeting and remember Navalny’s fate.

EU Council President Charles Michel also wants to receive Yulia Navalnaya.
