Friday February 16 on TF1 was the big return of “Dancing with the Stars” after more than a year and a half of absence.
A half-Quebec jury, an audience with 3.9 million viewers, but above all brand new candidates.

“It hurts, like a stab
,” explains James Denton, holding the back of his thigh.
After checking with Gilles Cohen, sports trauma surgeon, the American had indeed torn his thigh muscle during training.

Sadly, James Denton did not recover in time to dance Friday night.
All hopes are therefore focused on next week.
In fact, only half of the duos took to the “Dancing with the Stars” floor.
The rest of the candidates will enter the competition this Friday, February 23.
James Denton apologized on set and on Instagram, ensuring that he would do his best to participate in the next prime.
“
Hamstring tear in rehearsal – a frustrating step backwards,”
the candidate admits in his post.
“
My sincere apologies to the “Dancing with the Stars” audience and other contestants for my inability to participate tonight.”
A crippling injury?
However, his partner Candice Pascal is less optimistic about James Denton's injury.
The dancer spoke on the show “50 minutes Inside” on February 17.
“
It’s a tear (...).
Normally, it’s a month of downtime
,” notes Candice Pascal.
“
We will try, with treatment, to make him recover over two weeks,”
she said.
Even if there are no eliminations in the first two shows, the duo James Denton and Candice Pascal are in danger: they lose the chance to score points, and above all risk being simply disqualified.
For his part, James Denton is not giving up and still hopes to participate in the next show.
He shares his physiotherapy sessions on his social networks.
“My new daily routine with the fabulous Cyril Msika.
I will be back
,” he assures with confidence.
