The International Court of Justice in The Hague today (Monday) discussed a Palestinian petition against the legality of Israeli control over the territories of Judea and Samaria.

Israel decided not to send a representative on its behalf to the court - thus it expresses complete disregard for the discussion.

The discussion was opened by a statement by the Palestinian Authority's Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki.

"I stand before you on behalf of 2.3 million residents of Gaza, half of whom are children who were killed and starved, I speak on behalf of more than 2.5 million Palestinians in the West Bank region who do not receive protection for their gains. I also speak on behalf of more than 1.7 Palestinians in Israel (Arabs Israelis - B.A.) who are considered second-class citizens," stated Al-Malki.

"Palestine is not a land without people. There was life on this land, there was political life, cultural life, public life and religious life. There were schools, universities, and cinemas. There were towns, families, and communities whose lives were affected by Zionism, which denies their own rights in the land This one," claimed Al-Malki.

"The UN recognizes the right of every person to self-determination for generations the Palestinians do not enjoy this right and they suffer from apartheid.

This is the reality of millions of Palestinians who suffer generation after generation", "not only from the events of the Nakba in 1948.

This event continues including now as I claim to you right now at this time Palestinians are being killed and discriminated against.

This fact means that a Palestinian can spend his whole life in a state of refugees, our land can be annexed, our freedom is not found.

There is no safe place for Palestinians."
