Volodymyr Zelensky has invited Donald Trump to visit the front lines in Ukraine.

At the Munich Security Conference, Volodymyr Zelensky invited Donald Trump to visit the front – to show him the “real war”.
Munich - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky gave a fiery speech at the Munich Security Conference.
He warned of a global catastrophe if Russia and Vladimir Putin were not defied, again called for weapons for his country - and extended an invitation: to former US President Donald Trump.
Zelensky invites Trump to visit the front: “The real war, not Instagram”
“If Mr. Trump comes, I would be happy to give him a tour of the front,” Zelensky said at the Munich Security Conference.
“I think that if we are in dialogue about how to end the war, we need to show the people who are decision-makers what that means - the real war, not on Instagram,” Zelensky concluded, according to US daily

The Ukrainian president had already invited former US President Trump at the end of January in an interview with the British TV broadcaster Channel 4. Zelensky said at the time that he would welcome Trump “with pleasure” in Kiev.
However, a visit has not yet taken place.

Trump is viewed with skepticism because of his statements regarding the war in Ukraine.
People in Ukraine are worried about the re-election of the former US president for two main reasons.
On the one hand, there is Trump's statement that he alone is able to end the war within a very short time.
Trump had not yet said what his plan might be.
However, he repeatedly stated that, due to his good relationships with both Zelensky and Russian President Putin, he had the ability to end the war within a day.
“When Donald Trump says he thinks he can end the war in 24 hours, that’s pretty dangerous,” Zelensky said at the time.
Because it sounds as if the former US president could make some decisions that are dangerous for Ukraine.
“If his idea doesn’t work for us as the Ukrainian people, then he will do everything he can to push this idea through anyway.
And that worries me,” said Zelensky.
He has not spoken to Trump since the start of the war against Ukraine.

“He is welcome to come here, but I think he cannot end the war in 24 hours without giving Putin our land,” he said.

The other issue that worries Ukraine about Donald Trump is the slowdown in arms deliveries from the USA.
Most recently, Ukraine had to give up the city of Avdiivka, which Zelensky also linked to the fact that the West had not provided enough weapons.
At the Munich Security Conference, the Ukrainian president again called for faster deliveries of artillery shells and long-range missiles.
According to Politico,

of an “artificial deficit” in ammunition.
Ukraine is paying for this with human lives.
Further arms deliveries are currently being blocked, especially in the USA, where the House of Representatives is postponing the release of US funds for weapons to Ukraine.
Following Zelensky's Siko speech, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also said during a panel discussion: “The lack of decisions in the US Congress has a direct impact on the front lines in Ukraine.
Now it is time for the USA to keep what it promised.” The blocked Ukraine deal is also seen as a show of force by Donald Trump, who is campaigning for the election.
Zelensky invites Trump to Ukraine: “I only need 24 minutes”
This is one of the reasons why Zelensky is likely to continue to urgently seek a connection to Trump and hope - probably in vain - for the American to visit Ukraine.
According to Zelensky, it would be enough if the visit were only very brief.

the Kyiv Independent,
in his interview at the end of January, Zelensky alluded to Trump's "24 hours" statements in which he could end the war.
The Ukrainian president then declared: “I invite former President Trump.
If he can come here, it will take me 24 minutes - no more - to explain to him that he cannot handle this war.
He can't bring peace because of Putin.” Trump had not yet accepted Zelensky's previous invitation to come to Ukraine.
