transporting more than 70 kilos of cocaine along the routes of Jujuy and Salta

.

It was after research work promoted by the Ministry of Security, which shared the results on networks.

Firstly, and after exhaustive investigations, members of the Salta Gendarmerie squad followed the trail of a drug transport.

The officers set up a checkpoint at kilometer 8 of National Route No. 68, near

Cafayate

.

After several hours of surveillance, they saw two suspicious vehicles and immediately intercepted them.

Those cars were occupied by four people, who showed nervousness before the routine interrogation, according to official sources.

Thus, the officers began searching the vehicles

and detected that, hidden inside the tires, more than 50 kilos of cocaine were being transported.

The four wheels of the car had been conditioned

to hide the bricks of cocaine, which were stuck inside the tires.

On the other hand, personnel from the San Pedro de Jujuy Gendarmerie squad that had carried out intelligence tasks to identify drug trafficking maneuvers, set up a checkpoint on National Route No. 34, in the

Chalicán area,

where it was suspected that an important shipment would pass through. of drugs.

There, the gendarmes stopped a van that matched the information they had.

Thus, the uniformed officers began the inspection of the vehicle with the help of a drug detection dog, which

reacted in the fuel tank area.

For this reason, they began a thorough search and

managed to find 19,620 kg

of cocaine hidden in a false bottom.

The Jujuy Federal Prosecutor's Office intervened in the case, ordering the arrest of the two crew members of the vehicle and the seizure of the drugs.
