For fans of rustic crime novels there is hardly any way around the “Rosenheim Cops”.
But viewers now have to do without the ZDF series several times.
Mainz – Since 2002, the “Rosenheim Cops” have been regularly investigating on the ZDF program, delighting several million television viewers.
The crime series has now produced well over 500 episodes and half a dozen feature-length specials.
But the television series, which is broadcast every Tuesday at 7:25 p.m., always has to give way to other programs - and often at very short notice.
Winter sports instead of “Rosenheim Cops”: Popular crime series has to give way
“Rosenheim Cops” fans will have to be prepared for several cancellations in the coming days and weeks: ZDF is removing the rustic, humorous criminal cases from its regular program in mid-February and early March.
This applies not only to the main Tuesday editions, which will not continue until March, but especially to the repeats of old episodes that are broadcast daily at 4:10 p.m.
The “Rosenheim Cops” will be canceled on February 17th and 18th, and instead ZDF will show the Toboggan World Cup and the Biathlon World Cup.
Between March 1st and 3rd, the crime series also has to give way in favor of winter sports.
During this period, ZDF is focusing on the Ski Jumping World Cup in Lahti, Finland.
How much does a “Rosenheim Cops” episode cost?
The “Rosenheim Cops” is by no means the most expensive ZDF production, but it still has a generous budget.
According to a
Spiegel
report from 2017, the production costs of an episode amount to around 425,000 euros.
Almost a month's break: The new “Rosenheim Cops” season will not continue until March
But the wait is rewarded: After the most recent episode to date with the case “The Last Headline” ran on February 13th, the 23rd season continues on March 5th, around a month later.
Commissioners Sven Hansen (Igor Jeftić) and Kilian Kaya (Baran Hêvî) have to deal with a dead stock market guru in “The Broker from the Lake”.
