“It wasn’t just the food trade in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands that contributed to these success figures,” writes company spokeswoman Patricia Franzius.

The expansion of the sales network into specialist wholesalers and the successful positioning of the new “Extra airy” pizza are also part of the recent success story.

With the “Extra airy” Gustavo Gusto even won the coveted “Bestseller of the Year” award in 2023.

This is the third award of this kind within five years.

“We are pleased about this positive development and can look back on another successful year,” founder and managing director Christoph Schramm is quoted as saying.

“Despite consumer behavior that is currently still rather subdued, we managed to achieve significant sales growth last year and gain new customers.” Demand for the frozen pizzas remains high.

“I am also approaching this year very optimistically and expect strong growth again.

We are ideally positioned.”

For strategic reasons, Gustavo Gusto will say goodbye to its own ice cream after around three years.

“We are pizza.

And this segment still offers so many possibilities and opportunities that we simply want to give it our undivided attention,” says Schramm.

Gustavo Gusto currently has 14 different premium frozen pizzas in two sizes in its range.

As reported, in autumn 2022 the company opened a new production plant in Artern, Thuringia.

The number of employees grew to around 550.

“Of course, this requires us to constantly optimize our organizational and production processes,” emphasizes the managing director.

In order to be able to best fulfill tasks such as further internationalization and the development of additional business areas in the future, Schramm relies on dual leadership in the management.

Schramm is now supported by Benjamin Krapf, who has been a member of the management team for one and a half years.

In the next few years, Gustavo Gusto wants to focus more on opening up new markets in Europe and expanding sales measures in Germany.
