When the necessary reinforcement of gendarmes in police zones during the latest urban riots is honored by the State... Lieutenant Yann Briez, commander of the Gendarmerie Surveillance and Intervention Platoon (PSIG) of Meaux (Seine- et-Marne), received the bronze medal on Friday for acts of courage and dedication during a ceremony organized at the National Gendarmerie Officers School (EOGN) in Melun.
Aged 30, he distinguished himself with his 23 men during the urban riots last June in Meaux alongside the police.
“This is the first time that we have intervened with them in a significant way and two nights in a row in the face of such violence.
The police thanked us and on a personal level, I thanked them too.
I want to emphasize the understanding we had with them.
It was a work carried out hand in hand, a great cooperation,” salutes Yann Briez.
