It is called "STEAM in Minecraft", it is organized by "Maker Faire Rome - The European Edition" (event promoted by the Rome Chamber of Commerce) and Maker Camp in collaboration with ANP (National Association of public managers and high school professionals) and with the patronage of ASviS.
This is a contest aimed at students on the theme of ecological transition, between sustainable energy, circular economy, management of natural resources and innovative recycling.
A free initiative aimed at primary and secondary school classes in Italian public and private institutions.
"The theme of sustainability - explains Lorenzo Tagliavanti, president of the Rome Chamber of Commerce - is now indispensable for the entire productive world and cannot fail to involve our students first and foremost, that is, future generations who are faced with a challenge as complex as it is fascinating: seeking innovative solutions to ensure that the natural resources of the planet coexist in a balanced manner with the needs of man".
Entries must present original narratives, based on real or imagined scenarios, that explore how technology, science, engineering, art and mathematics can promote sustainable well-being and an eco-sustainable future.
Participants will be invited to create digital projects in Minecraft "Education Edition" that reflect the importance of innovations in the field of renewable energy, the circular economy and sustainable resource management.
"In line with an inspiring principle aimed at sharing ideas and projects for a better future, Maker Faire Rome - states Luciano Mocci, president of Innova Camera, a special company of the Rome Chamber of Commerce - has organized this contest aimed at young students to imagine and then create innovative solutions that help you live virtuously and sustainably".
Applications must be sent by 28 February 2024. The prizes, up to 500 euros, will be awarded by an evaluation committee based on the creativity and effectiveness of the solutions presented.
The contest regulations are published on the website www.makerfairerome.eu.
