BayWare, an international company in the renewable energy sector, has decided to expand in Italy with the development of offshore wind projects.
These are 14 projects for over 9 Gw: 2 in Lazio, 2 in Puglia, 4 in Sardinia, and 6 in Sicily.
A team of 6 people dedicated to the development of offshore projects was created, based in Rome, under the responsibility of engineer Giulia Lo Bianco.
This division is part of a global offshore team of approximately 35 experts.
BayWare expects between 3 and 5 projects to be built by 2030, for a total capacity of approximately 2Gw.
For the development and construction of the plants, BayWare
estimates an investment of approximately 6 billion euros.
In addition to Italy, the group's focus is on the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Portugal and Australia.
The company, through Crown Estate Scotland's ScotWind leasing agreement, has secured the rights to develop a 960Mw floating wind farm off Scotland's north-east coast.
Furthermore, BayWare has pre-qualified for two tenders in France, for the development of 250Mw in southern Brittany and up to 500Mw in the Mediterranean Sea.
Results are expected in the first quarter of 2024.
