After a report on ZDF about the end of nuclear power, Green politicians were outraged.
The CDU Economic Council is now countering with harsh criticism.
Berlin – A critical contribution on ZDF about Economics Minister Robert Habeck has caused a lot of anger among the Greens.
The program “Berlin Direkt” was about, among other things, the economic downturn in the country and the search for those responsible.
The moderator Andrea Maurer referred to the role of the minister and the shutdown of the nuclear power plant in the midst of the energy crisis.
Maurer: The end of nuclear power will lead to a loss of prosperity
“It is probably a special point that Germany is currently discussing European atomic bombs, while the same Germany is the only European country to have withdrawn from nuclear energy in the middle of the energy crisis,” Maurer moderated at the weekend immediately after an interview with SPD-EU Politician Katharina Barley, who got the atomic bomb discussion rolling in Germany through an interview statement.
The nuclear phase-out is “also a reason why the situation in the German economy has worsened, why prosperity is dwindling and anger against the Green Economics Minister is growing,” Maurer continues, switching to Robert Habeck as the focus of criticism.
In “Berlin Direkt”, ZDF, led by presenter Andrea Maurer, also discussed Habeck – the Greens didn’t like that at all.

This statement caused a stir among the Greens on social media.

CDU counters: Electricity prices could be significantly lower
Next, the CDU Economic Council intervened in the debate and also did not hold back in its criticism.
“The nuclear phase-out is proven to cost prosperity.
Prof. Veronika Grimm from the Federal Government's Advisory Council, among others, calculated this.

“Due to the increased electricity prices and the understandable dwindling trust of companies in energy and economic policy, many investment decisions are currently being made against Germany as a location,” the politician adds and recommends: “There are many in the Council of Experts and also in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection smart heads.

EU wants to promote nuclear power as a “green technology”.
The role of nuclear power in the energy transition is not only hotly debated in Germany.
The EU is also trying to find a green branch - but recently it was agreed to fundamentally promote the technology in Europe.
Negotiators from the European Parliament and EU countries agreed on Tuesday on a template that would include nuclear technologies as clean industries worthy of funding.
Among other things, the law is intended to make energy supply in the EU more independent of third countries.

With the agreement, the EU can “reclaim global leadership in clean technologies,” member states said in a statement.
The compromise contains a list of so-called strategically important technologies and their components.
In addition to nuclear fusion and fission, these include wind and solar systems, batteries and heat pumps.
Member states such as France, Sweden and Poland had pushed for industrial funding to be opened up for nuclear technologies.
