Farmers block a Lidl warehouse in northern Hesse.

In northern Hesse, farmers are blocking two Edeka and Lidl warehouses.
The activists present a list of demands.
Update from Tuesday, February 20th, 9:05 a.m.:
There are still 25 vehicles protesting in front of the Lidl logistics center in Edermünde - including tractors and cars.
The access roads are still blocked, but are continually being cleared for arriving and departing trucks.
The police speak of a calm situation and emphasize that the protesters are behaving cooperatively.
There are still small delays in the departure of the trucks.
At around 8 a.m. there was a backlog on the A49, but this has since cleared up.
“The situation is relaxed,” says a police spokesman.
However, he cannot yet estimate how long the protest will last.
The demonstration participants did not provide any information about this.

Farmers' protest in Melsungen and Edermünde
First report from Tuesday, February 20th, 7:51 a.m.:
Farmers blocked the warehouses of two food companies - two large Lidl and Edeka warehouses affected - in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse on the night of Tuesday (February 20th).
The demonstrations were unannounced, a police spokesman said on Tuesday morning.
One of the campaigns is currently still running (as of 7:35 a.m.).
In Melsungen, up to 45 vehicles, including around 10 tractors, took part in the meeting and blocked access to an Edeka warehouse.
According to the police, the action ended again on Monday evening around 10:30 p.m.
In Edermünde, however, the situation was different: According to the police, farmers have been demonstrating there since 11 p.m. on Monday.
Up to 50 vehicles temporarily blocked the access roads to a logistics warehouse belonging to the food company Lidl.
The police spokesman said there were still around 20 vehicles on site on Tuesday morning.

Farmers present a catalog of demands at a protest in northern Hesse
Farmers have presented a list of numerous demands.
The ten points in total include: introduction of country of origin labeling on all food in retail and catering or the expiry of duty-free status for Ukrainian agricultural products.
According to police, the blockades remained peaceful.
They are part of the farmers' protest against the federal government's agricultural policy.
The police are on duty with several officers.
In an unannounced protest, farmers in Hesse recently blocked the access roads to the A45 and two federal highways.
