The FDP's distancing from the traffic light coalition could also be observed in Germering.

The Bundestag member and former state leader of the Liberals Daniel Föst repeatedly taunted the SPD and the Greens at the district FDP's fish dinner in the Ilios outdoor pool restaurant.

Germering

- What Daniel Föst thinks of the traffic light coalition was already clear when listing the priorities that the Bundestag FDP has set for 2024, according to Föst.

In front of the twelve loyal supporters who had gathered in the “Ilios” restaurant, Först repeatedly threw swipes at the coalition partners of the FDP.

The so-called wage gap, which means that work has to be worth it, is a high priority for the FDP, explained Föst and added: Less so for the SPD.

They no longer know that their base is with the little ones and the working people.

The Greens also got something.

“Our finance minister also has to focus on the economy because the economics minister only creates more energy,” criticized Föst Robert Habeck.

He should have ensured that energy costs were made acceptable.

He commented on the third focus with a touch of self-irony: “I know everyone promises to reduce bureaucracy.” But they want to put pressure on all levels down to the municipality in this regard.

At this point, however, the former Bavarian FDP state chairman saw a possible obstacle: “I increasingly see federalism as a brake on things.” In the education or construction sectors, for example, there are too many different rules, laws or regulations.

Fös was also at best cautiously optimistic about other developments.

He rated it as extremely gratifying how many people are protesting against extremism.

“But the fact that the AfD is becoming smaller because of this is a fallacy.

Unfortunately, voting for anger and protest is still too much of a trend.” The Union must do a lot to help combat this.

Föst then distributed heavily in that direction and then also defended the traffic lights.

Föst: “Ailing railways, slow internet: the CDU and CSU manage to blame everything on the traffic lights that they did not tackle themselves.” Föst pointed out, almost with relish, that the now criticized development aid for cycle paths in Peru in 2021 by the then CSU Federal Minister Gerd Müller had been approved.

Föst was asked whether he was worried about the FDP's election forecasts, which are below five percent.

He replied that he was used to ups and downs with this party.

He gave a rather cautious rejection of leaving the traffic light government: “The FDP will go under with the traffic light or it will be successful with it.” The district chairman Martin Koch from Puchheim took this as an opportunity to remark “that it used to be easier “To be an FDP member”.

Nevertheless, he looks to the future with confidence.
