New developments are emerging in the current trend barometer from RTL/ntv.

Things are going up again for the FDP, down for the AfD and the Union parties.

Cologne - There is not much movement in the current RTL/ntv trend barometer compared to the previous week.

But at least the FDP should be somewhat happy about the new poll numbers: While the party has been going steadily downhill in the past few weeks and recently slipped below the 3 percent mark, it could now slowly recover.

The FDP gained another percentage point this week.

This brings it back to 3 percent.

However, things continue to look somewhat bleak for the AfD.

While it slipped below the 20 percent mark at the end of January for the first time since the end of July 2023, there are no signs of recovery in February either.

The party with Alice Weidel at the top lost another percentage point.

The AfD is currently at 17 percent in the trend barometer.

The worse values could be related to the ongoing protests against a shift to the right in Germany.

The Union parties and the Sahra Wagenknecht alliance also each lost one percentage point compared to the previous week.

The Union parties therefore have 30 percent, the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance 4 percent.

The share of other parties - including the Free Voters, which is again at 3 percent - increases by two points.

The values for the SPD, the Greens and the Left remain unchanged: The SPD remains at 15 percent, the Greens at 14 percent and the Left at 3 percent.

Federal Chancellor Ranking: According to the current survey, this politician would win

If Germany could elect the Chancellor directly at the moment, Scholz would probably have to resign: If Scholz, Merz or Habeck were chosen, the Chancellor would only get 14 percent (-1) this week.

Green Party leader Robert Habeck also slipped one percentage point to 18 percent.

Friedrich Merz (CDU), on the other hand, can look forward to another percentage point and has a total of 24 percent.

A clear victory is also emerging this week in the constellation of Scholz, Merz and Baerbock.

Here too, Olaf Scholz loses by one percentage point (17 percent), while Merz gains by one percentage point (27 percent).

Annalena Baerbock remains unchanged, but could narrowly prevail against Scholz with her 18 percent.
