Weilheim – The Weilheim - Peißenberg section of the Bavarian Regional Railway (BRB) is closed until further notice.
Commuters call this a disaster.
Railway experts are now puzzling over why the road sensors have malfunctioned and how the problem can be solved.
Closure of the Weilheim - Peißenberg railway line due to road sensor attack: train cancellations and delays
Already at the weekend, travelers on the Bavarian Regional Railway (BRB) had to switch to the replacement rail service between Weilheim - Peißenberg.
The reason: There was no longer anything on the rails between the district town and the market.
According to the BRB, road sensors had struck the railway embankment and indicated road damage.
At the request of the Kreisbote, BRB spokeswoman Sabine Floßmann said that an assessment would take place today by the infrastructure operator DB InfraGO, a federally owned railway infrastructure company.
Other trades would also be involved in the tests.
Floßmann said it is not foreseeable when the route can be reopened.
It would remain closed until further notice.
Commuters and travelers would have to expect train cancellations and delays on the route.
The RB 83 / RB 67 line between Gessertshausen - Schongau is also affected.
The BRB asks you to use the replacement bus service that has been set up to commute between Weilheim and Peißenberg.
