The concentration of fine particles remains beyond the permitted limits in almost all of Lombardy where in 9 provinces, including Milan,
first level anti-smog measures are in force from today such as the ban on the circulation of the most polluting vehicles during the day.
According to the latest available data released by Arpa today and relating to yesterday, pm10 remains above the reference values and the threshold of 50 micrograms per cubic meter.
The data recorded in the control units of Milan and its province ranges from a minimum of 73 to a maximum of 122, in Monza and Brianza it reaches 111, in Como 78, in Lecco 100, in Varese 94.
Based on anti-smog measures in municipalities with over 30 thousand inhabitants, from 7.30 am to 7.30 pm, petrol cars up to €1 and diesel cars up to €4 are prohibited from circulating every day
(and not just from Monday to Friday).
In homes the maximum temperature is set at 19 degrees and it is forbidden to light open fires, use wood stoves up to three stars and in agriculture spread sewage, digestates, sewage sludge, fertilizers unless injected and buried immediately.
If the concentration of pollutants does not decrease for 6 consecutive days, second level anti-smog measures will be triggered.
