Ruby Franke, the
influencer
and YouTube star who gave advice on how to raise children, was sentenced this Tuesday to four consecutive sentences of between one and 15 years in prison for child abuse.
The sentence in a Utah district court puts an end to the high-profile case brought against the mother of six, author of the now-defunct YouTube channel
8 Passengers.

Ruby Franke was arrested in August 2023 when one of her children, aged 12, escaped from a house and asked a neighbor to call the emergency number 911: he was malnourished and tied with duct tape.

The Utah Board of Pardons and Paroles
will determine exactly how long
Franke will remain behind bars.
During the sentencing hearing, audio of which was streamed on the Utah court website, Franke cried as she apologized to her children.
“I believed that darkness was light and that right was wrong,” he said.
“I would do anything in the world for you.
I took from them everything soft, safe and good.”
