The arrival of the new iPhone 16 is, as tradition, expected in the autumn.
Despite the months that separate the next models, news on the possible design is already starting to leak out on the internet.
According to an informant who had already given previews of Apple's changes in strategy in the past, which were then confirmed, the basic iPhone 16, i.e. not the Pro and Pro Max models, will see a return to the configuration of the cameras in vertical arrangement and no longer in diagonal like on the current iPhone 15.
The reason would lie in the need for Apple to allow even the cheapest versions to shoot "space" videos, to be viewed on Vision Pro viewers. To date, the only two models that allow recording space videos are the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, which use the two vertical cameras to acquire information in three dimensions of what is captured.
The construction of the Pro differs from the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus due to the addition of an additional sensor on the former, placed in a diagonal position.
This is a return to the past for Apple, which had chosen a vertical configuration for the two cameras of the iPhone 11 and then opted for the diagonal starting from the iPhone 13.
To increase the hypotheses of the informant known online by the name of Majin Buu, also the chassis of a back cover for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, where the two holes for the cameras can be seen one above the other.
The images, taken and released by the MacRumors site, also highlight the presence of the "action" button, the button on the left edge which on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max allows you to customize the start of a function or application by holding down the button positioned where until the previous generation there was the slide to silence the ringtone and notifications.
