The local arena with Lea Fedida, former Member of Knesset, Director of the Community Relations Department at KKL-Junk, for the past twenty years serving as the chairman of the community center on a voluntary basis and now - a leading candidate for mayor

Lea Fedida in an interview in the local arena of Walla!/Walla!

It was planned to have a panel here with another candidate for mayor, but as you can see - the chair is empty.

You asked to initiate the panel and instead of using all the screen time for yourself, you chose to give him screen time as well.

Why is this so important to you?

I believe in transparency.

From the beginning of my journey in the mayoral race I believed in this.

I think that the residents of Yakneam who choose a new leadership this year for the coming years consider hearing the different positions between the candidates, accepting the truth as it is.

They deserve us to be transparent with them, so I thought it would be right to call him as well and discuss things and not just behind the keyboard.

Yakneam is at a crossroads and I think confrontation is the right thing to do.

I have never refused a confrontation with him, as soon as something is organized and prepared in advance I am the first to come forward.

There have already been several attempts to summon him to a confrontation and everyone knows who refused.

What is the most important subject close to your heart?

I will oppose the construction plan on the second level Emek Shalom, I will keep a green Yakneam.

In Kneam for years there has been a persistent struggle for the color of the city, for our magical nature reserve, Emek HaShalom.

Destructive construction plans threaten its continued existence and the transformation of Yakneam into a concrete city, Pekoka, with housing prices that are unattainable.

My commitment from the beginning was that I would not allow our nature to be destroyed, I would not allow Yokneam to become a real estate monster, I would not allow Yokneam to lose its uniqueness, a strong community surrounded by a green landscape.

The struggle brought results and we were able to freeze the progress of the destructive plan at the second level for a period of one year At least you will allow the next leadership of Yakneam to make a fateful decision about it:

whether to re-plan, find alternative ways to develop the city or destroy this natural gem with concrete buildings that will destroy all the charm of Yakneam.

We are a week before the elections, in the days of a severe war, how do you re-motivate an election campaign?

It is not easy to campaign and talk about politics while our good sons and daughters are risking their lives defending the country.

Apart from that, most of my list to this day are in active reserve service and the rest are in civilian order 8, constantly working to strengthen the home front.

So there is no doubt that this election will no longer be a celebration of democracy, but it will be an important and valuable election.

Along with the difficulty of running a campaign in the shadow of war, I also feel that it is my duty to do everything so that Bekneam has an experienced, strong and responsible leadership, a leadership that works transparently and for the residents.

Since the seventh of October, the entire Israeli society has mobilized, what things have you done?

As chairman of the Yakneam community center, I enlisted at the beginning of the war for the national mission to strengthen the home front.

I led many and varied volunteer programs, we held respite activities for children and all families, we helped the families of the reservists and created educational frameworks for the children of the city even while the formal education frameworks were closed.

Along with this, my team established a patrol of shelters, we regularly maintained the refreshment station at the Yakneam intersection and made sure that the city could continue to exist even in an emergency routine.

The war awakened the public to issues of personal security, how do you think the municipality functions during an emergency?

Unfortunately, Yakneam is not prepared for an emergency.

The chance of a massive war against Hezbollah is increasing and the security of the city is an issue that must be the city's top priority.

There is no municipal emergency center in Kneam, no medical emergency center, no instructions on dealing with power outages, the shelters were renovated individually and above all there is no sense of father and mother, of someone who is responsible and will take care of the residents during an emergency.

My team, which consists of military and security personnel, and I formulated an emergency plan and called on the municipality to implement it immediately.

In emergencies there is no time for politics or power plays, it is about the lives of the residents and it doesn't matter who initiated the plan, it is important that it is implemented.

Unfortunately, it didn't happen, but upon taking office, this is the first thing I will do.

What are your plans to strengthen the security of the residents?

We formulated a broad and comprehensive plan, among the most prominent things: training the public shelters and connecting them to the Internet.

Establishing a protected urban hotline that will respond in any emergency.

Establishment of emergency teams on the basis of local standby classes.

Establishing a system for evacuating residents, dividing the city into districts and providing equipment for rescue and rescue.

Establishment of standby classes.

In the field of education - where is the city located, and what do you intend to do?

The education system in Kneam is good, but it can also be excellent.

I believe that promoting our young generation is a first-rate task and it is our responsibility to take care of our children and give them all the tools they need for success.

Because today they are our children and tomorrow they are our future.

With proper and advanced management of the education budget, I intend to ensure that every boy and girl receives the maximum investment, support and envelope they need, and thus I will advance Yakneam's education system to be a leading and excellent system, an education system that inspires other cities.

My program for excellent education touches all age groups, from birth to university and also deals with issues such as social value education, school climate and transition to the digital age.

What are your plans to promote housing programs for young couples?

My intention is to take care of housing for young people through housing for residents, promoting an apartment project at a discount and establishing the young Yakneam neighborhood, a neighborhood that will allow the city's young people to live at a reasonable price, a neighborhood that will keep our young people here at home, in Yakneam.

How do you see the city in ten years?

My vision for Neam is to make it the leading city in the region, a city with a strong and colorful community, a city with excellent education, a vibrant cultural life, sports and leisure, a united city with green and open spaces.

A city that maintains its identity but also knows how to develop.

A city of young people.
