Simon Beeck (44) can consider himself lucky to have escaped the horror once again.
The RTL presenter appears on Instagram with an arm in a cast, which was preceded by a pretty frightening story.
As Beeck reveals in a recent interview, he suffered a “super small cut” a few days ago “while clearing out the basement.”
Since at first glance it didn't appear to be a serious injury, he initially didn't give it any further thought.
However, the cut became infected, which is why Beeck ultimately had to go to the emergency room with suspected blood poisoning.

“I suddenly got severe chills and body aches on Saturday afternoon.
So shortly after Carnival, as a Cologne resident, I naturally first guessed the classic 'Cologne flu'," reports Simon Beeck in an interview with RTL about the shock experience.
“Overnight the [pain in the upper arm] got worse and worse.
The next morning I could only lift my arm with pain and saw that it was not only very swollen, but also had a thick red spot that was about the size of my fist." A doctor friend then advised the entertainer to: to go to the hospital as quickly as possible.
For Simon Beeck, rest is on the agenda for the next few weeks
In order not to put excessive strain on his inflamed arm, Simon Beeck has to wear a cast for the time being.
The “Love Island” commentator is also taking an antibiotic to combat the infection.
“Such blood poisoning should not be underestimated,” he explains in an interview with the broadcaster.
“In the worst case, it can be life-threatening.
A viewer also wrote to me on Instagram that unfortunately his thigh had to be removed after suffering blood poisoning in his leg.
So that’s not something to be trifled with.”
In order to avoid any permanent damage, Simon Beeck must take it easy in the next few days and weeks.
“They continue to check my blood values and see whether the inflammation levels go down.
So long now we just have to wait and observe the situation,” he sums up his current situation to RTL.
