Paris Basketball played its last match on February 7 in the dilapidated Georges-Carpentier hall (13th century), resulting in a victory and qualification for the quarter-finals of the Euro Cup.
“Thank you Carpentier, thank you Carpentier,” chanted the public at the final whistle.
Four days later, the Parisian team set foot in its new home for the first time, the Adidas Arena, built at the Porte de la Chapelle (18th century) as part of the Paris 2024 Games.
The move of Paris Basket from the south-east to the north of the capital therefore marks the start of a new chapter for the Georges-Carpentier hall, without its orange ball professionals and their thirty annual home matches.
This same room which hosted, on All Saints' Day, the International Wheelchair Rugby Cup, a Paralympic discipline.
The City of Paris, owner of the equipment, assures us: despite this departure, the enclosure has a bright future.
