On BFM Côte d'Azur, Betty claims to have been sexually assaulted in 2021 while she was in the intensive care unit after a heart attack. For her, her attacker would be the man arrested at the end of January for rape in similar circumstances.

Le Figaro Nice

On January 31, a 53-year-old caregiver working at the Pasteur hospital in Nice was indicted for the rape of a patient admitted to the intensive care unit.

The latter, married and father of children, was surprised in the middle of an attack by a nurse who had doubts about his behavior.

The affair was immediately covered in all the local and national press.

This is how Betty, another alleged victim of the caregiver, went to file a complaint on Monday.

She is certain she was abused by the same man in similar circumstances.

In any case, this is what she assures BFM Côte d'Azur, to whom she gave a face-to-face interview on Monday.

The facts allegedly occurred between January 30 and February 10, 2021, while she was hospitalized in intensive care in Pasteur.

Victim of a heart attack, she spent more than a week in a coma.

After waking up, she finds herself alone in her room with a man she does not know.

I was convinced that this guy was coming to remove my urinary catheter.

I thought it was long... After a while I told him: “listen, go at once”

,” she explains.

To which the man, wearing a surgical mask, replied that he was not there for that and above all that he was not a nurse.

“I asked him to come out straight away, which he did

,” she continues on BFM, her voice trembling.

A nurse arrived at the same time:

“She asked him why he closed the door

,” Betty remembers.

Judicial information

The patient immediately reported to the hospital, understanding that she had just been sexually assaulted.

It will remain without follow-up.

Time passes, without the scar really closing.

But Betty has no choice but to forget.

Until the caregiver's arrest at the end of January.

Although she did not see the face of her attacker in 2021, she still decided to file a complaint on February 12.

But the attitude of a police officer would have prevented him from going through with it.

“The policeman had a small wooden brush on his desk, and he started combing his beard while looking at the ceiling.

And that disturbed me, it was very uncomfortable.

I felt bad, humiliated

,” she confided on the Riviera channel.

Betty then wrote directly to the public prosecutor of Nice, Damien Martinelli.

On Monday, she was invited to file a complaint at the Nice central police station, at the Auvare barracks.

, the prosecutor indicates that he does not want to communicate at this stage on the case, a judicial investigation being in progress.

The investigations, entrusted to the criminal brigade of the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Security, are continuing.

As early as 2019, the first suspicions would have weighed on the caregiver for similar facts, without the evidence ever allowing him to be confused.
