Isen - At the annual general meeting it was announced that the House of Music was making progress.

Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2025.

It should cost 650,000 euros.

A separate home for the Isen brass band, the “House of Music”, was the focus of the annual general meeting on Sunday morning in the Gasthof Klement.

Before that, however, chairman Bernhard Stangl reported on the club's past year.

The Isen brass band played “significantly more than usual” with 89 performances, said the chairman.

Stangl called it the “corona catch-up effect” that the musicians played around 20 times more often than usual.

This includes participation in fire brigade festivals and folk festivals as well as our own spring concert, which was sold out both times with a total of almost 1,000 visitors.

A lot is already planned this year, in addition to the usual dates such as putting up the maypole in Lengdorf, the Long Night of Music and a Bavarian Evening.

Conductor Marcel Schultheis also reported on a diverse musical year, whose review was presented in his absence by his deputy Franz Windhuber.

“At the spring concert, the orchestra was able to demonstrate the range of brass music,” was his conclusion, because everything from classical to rock was included.

At the upcoming spring concert there will once again be a colorful mix, for example with a Super Mario medley.

There was also a lot on offer for the young people, as youth leader Katharina Feuerer reported.

In addition to the performances, she particularly emphasized the achievement badges achieved.

The bronze badge was awarded by Raphael Eibl on the French horn, Andrea Feuerer on the saxophone, Sebastian Feuerer on the tenor horn and Amelie Mehne on the oboe.

Johannes Lanzl and Michael Lechner on the tenor horn and Valentin Lechner on the saxophone received the silver badge.

Treasurer Thomas Stangl reported an increased cash balance.

And that was also necessary when it came to the most important point of the meeting: building the rehearsal home.

“This topic has been on our minds for a long time,” the chairman recalled that the decision was made in 2012 to create a reserve for the “Haus der Musik”.

The association spent many years looking for a location, and in 2019 they found a property on southern Haager Strasse.

After the community bought the property and re-planned it, things gained momentum last year.

The construction plan has been drawn up, cost estimates have been obtained, the first subsidies have been clarified, and a few weeks ago the district office approved the development plan.

The orchestra has 160 square meters there to rehearse, and there will also be an individual rehearsal and lounge room.

Significantly more than the almost 90 square meters in the school's old music hall.

The construction will cost around 650,000 euros, and in addition to its own capital, the association relies on grants, funding and, above all, donations.

In addition, some external financing will probably be necessary.

125,000 euros should be raised for this.

To cover the running costs, there may be a support association with the purpose of maintaining the rehearsal home.

In principle, there is enough money in the till for the running costs, “but it will be tight,” the chairman pointed out.

The unanimous decision of the meeting to pursue the establishment of the “Haus der Musik” paved the way for “the club to have a home” and not for instruments, sound technology, trailers and sheet music to be distributed privately.

Construction is currently scheduled to begin in spring 2025.

The new elections took place after the annual membership fee was increased from 15 to 20 euros for the first time since the changeover to the euro in 2002, and a change in the statutes meant that there was no longer a separation between active and passive members.

As a result of the change in the statutes, two assessors will be eliminated in the future, so only three assessors have been elected for the next two years.

Chairman Bernhard Stangl and his deputy Robert Wenhardt were confirmed in their positions, as were the two treasurers Thomas Stangl and Laura Angermaier.

Sebastian Hibler handed over his position as secretary to the previous youth spokesperson Katharina Feuerer.

Leni Fichtner remains the grade supervisor.

Bernhard Lechner and Michael Feuerer took over the positions of assessors again, and Veronika Hibler is also new to their ranks.

Regina Kellner and Carina Kellner continue to check the cash register.

Tanja Lechner is now taking over the position of youth representative in the youth brass band and is thus vacating the position of youth secretary.

Franziska Feuerer is again there as deputy.

In the future, Alexander Peiß will hold the position of youth secretary.
