The macabre discovery of a human leg on one of the New York City subway tracks has sparked an investigation to find out who it belonged to, how the person lost it and how it got there.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) stated that the leg was found last Saturday around 1:00 pm (Eastern time) in the Concourse neighborhood, in the Bronx, between 167th and 170th streets, on the line 4 of the train.
[He ran a drug laboratory “in the style of the Breaking Bad series” and he himself called the police to the place]
No further details about the discovery were revealed.
Nor whether the leg could belong to a man or a woman, nor the possible age of the person.

The New York medical examiner's office is examining it to learn more and try to solve the mystery.
Thousands of objects are lost every month on the city's transportation service and later found, including more common things like urns, welder's masks and blenders.
Line 4 of the metro service was stopped for a few hours after the discovery on Saturday, but resumed operations in the afternoon of the same day.
