The city of Miesbach had some trees felled on Habererplatz along Schlierseer Straße yesterday, Monday morning.
The reason for this is not another discovery of the Asian longhorned beetle, as construction site manager Jürgen Fischer assures.
Rather, some ash and horse chestnut trees were removed that would have posed a safety risk due to their poor health.
Danger of wind breakage
“Some of the bark was already missing in places,” reports Fischer.
Because of the risk of wind damage, some felling and cutting work is currently being carried out in the city area, adds the construction site manager.
It is important to hurry, because due to the upcoming bird breeding season, the work can only be carried out until February 29th.
