Donald Trump's last Republican rival, Nikki Haley, refused on Tuesday February 20 to suspend her campaign despite the significant delay she is facing against the former president in their party's primaries for the US presidential election in November.
“Some of you, maybe a few in the media, came here to find out if I was withdrawing from the race.
Well, that's not the case
,” she said at a public meeting in Greenville, South Carolina.
This southeastern state, of which Nikki Haley was governor, is holding its Republican primaries in four days.
Donald Trump and Nikki Haley are the only two notable candidates, with the former president remaining the clear favorite.
The septuagenarian has already won the first three Republican primaries hands down and is well ahead in the polls for the next elections to come.
Despite this, Nikki Haley assured that she would remain in the race, believing that throwing in the towel
“would be the easy way out”

“It is not okay to threaten people who support your opponent”
The fifty-year-old, former American ambassador to the UN under Donald Trump, also made some of her harshest criticisms of her former boss on Tuesday.
“It's not okay to spend $50 million in campaign contributions on personal lawsuits, it's not okay to threaten people who support your opponent
,” she said.
“And it is not normal to call on Russia to invade NATO countries.

Nikki Haley also called for not giving
“the most demanding job”
in the world to
“someone who risks dementia”

“Trump and Biden are two old gentlemen, who will only continue to age”

His campaign team detailed its roadmap for the Republican primaries on Tuesday, predicting a victory for the former president
“on March 19”
at the latest.
The winner of the race for the Republican nomination, which can in theory last until July, will, barring any surprises, be opposed to Joe Biden in the November presidential election.
