Martin Hainzl takes over the management of the Wörther Bauhof from the “walking encyclopedia” Bernhard Streitel.

Wörth – Bernhard Streitel has been working at the Wörther Bauhof since 1991 and has also taken over management over the years.

Now the 63-year-old community citizen continues to work in part-time retirement.

His successor is the experienced colleague Martin Hainzl: The 36-year-old has been part of the team for six years.

“Ideally, we will find someone from the team,” explained Mayor Thomas Gneißl about filling the position.

They found the right man in Hainzl.

Streitel is “a walking encyclopedia” and continues to make his knowledge available, said Gneißl, referring to his wealth of experience.

The building yard is the flagship of the community.

Gneißl went on to explain that most of the work is done in-house and there are few outsourced jobs.

There are always missions on weekends too.

“The burst pipes are challenging,” Streitel reported from practice.

The outgoing construction site manager still remembers a pipe bursting in the bitter cold in Kirchötting.

Thick ice quickly formed on the road and they had to be salted immediately.

The construction team also once had to pull three dead dogs from the track that had been run over by the train at the same time, but from the outside they hardly appeared injured.

This experience stayed in your memory.

Compared to the past, demands have increased today and criticism comes more quickly.

Sometimes you would like more praise when you are working for your fellow human beings.

The discussion group agreed on this.
