The Verdi union went on strike nationwide on Lufthansa air traffic on Tuesday morning.
This also has consequences for passengers at Berlin Airport.
Berlin - The warning strike by the Verdi union at Lufthansa also began on Tuesday morning at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport.
Lufthansa canceled all planned take-offs and landings at the airport, as announced on its website.
The original plan was to have 25 takeoffs and landings each.
According to the airport's online information, flights of Lufthansa subsidiaries Eurowings, Swiss, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines are not affected by the warning strike.
Lufthansa only flies from the capital airport to Munich and Frankfurt am Main.
The reason for the warning strike by Lufthansa ground staff is the group-wide collective wage negotiations for, according to Verdi, around 25,000 employees on the ground - including at Deutsche Lufthansa, Lufthansa Technik, Lufthansa Cargo, Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services, Lufthansa Engineering and Operational Services and other group companies.
Lufthansa speaks of around 20,000 employees.
Collective bargaining is scheduled to continue this Wednesday.
