The connection to a cult was suspected, now the focus is on the 17-year-old daughter.
Altavilla Milicia – A father killed his wife and two underage sons in Italy last week.
Initially his 17-year-old daughter was considered another victim, but now she confessed to being involved in the cruel act.
Triple murder in Italy: 17-year-old daughter confesses
Hundreds of people are still mourning the three people killed in Altavilla Milicia.
The 54-year-old perpetrator and father is said to have been a religious fanatic, and there is also a possible connection to a sect.
He turned himself in after the murder of his 41-year-old wife and his sons, aged five and 16. The children's bodies were found in the house, and the woman's charred body lay under a pile of earth near the house.
The couple's 17-year-old daughter survived the bloody crime and was found in the house in Altavilla Milicia.
However, the Italian news agency

has now reported that the girl is not another victim, but an accomplice.
Like her father, the 17-year-old daughter also confessed to torturing her brothers.
She also claims to have been the one who buried her mother in the garden.
Daughter cites an exorcism as the reason for her cruel actions
As the investigating officers have now announced, an exorcism is said to have been the reason for the cruel acts committed against their own family members.
“I would do anything again, we had to free ourselves from the devil,” the daughter told the public prosecutor, according to
Ansa
.
The autopsy showed that the bodies of her two brothers showed signs of burns and various types of abuse.
The 16-year-old is said to have resisted during the torture, but was unable to prevent himself from being killed.
In addition to the father and his daughter, two other suspects were arrested.
The couple is said to have even persuaded the father and his daughter to kill their own family members.
While the four suspects are in custody, a city mourning was declared on Wednesday.
"The community is on its knees, the wounds will remain, we cannot forget this horror," said Pino Virga, the city's mayor.
