The farming family from Großhelferdorf has received a preliminary result that the sheep that was killed a few days ago was caused by a wolf.
The final result is expected on Friday.

– According to the Bavarian State Office for the Environment, the first investigation has been completed.
Two samples are always analyzed.
According to his own statement, farmer Michael Riesenberger received a corresponding letter from the authorities containing the confirmation: Wolf!
Now it is still questionable which breed exactly it is.

Two sheep escaped with bite wounds
As reported, a predator killed two of the farmer's family's sheep during the night.
The farmer found the animals dead in the pasture.
“Both were killed by throat bites,” said the 38-year-old.
In addition to the two dead sheep, another mountain sheep was so badly injured in the throat that Michael Riesenberger had to rescue it in consultation with the veterinarian.
Two other sheep escaped with bite wounds.
The Großhelferdorf farmer will change his livestock farming due to these events and select a different animal species.
For example, boarding horses.
Which exactly needs to be discussed within the family.
“You have to fundamentally consider whether you want to keep a farm animal in this country.” All animals now have to stay in the stable, not just the sheep, but also the cows and their calves.
