Before ending up on store shelves, many books, comics and manga pass through Dourdan (Essonne).
It is in the Jalots activity zone of the royal city that MDS, a French company specializing in the distribution of books (subsidiary of Media Participations, 3rd French publishing group) has set up its logistics platform of 35,000 m2 in the early 2000s. Each year, 70 million titles are prepared there.
They are then delivered to the four corners of France to its 15,000 customers, bookstores, large cultural stores such as Fnac or Cultura, but also mass distribution and e-commerce such as Amazon or even tourist websites.
With key moments, such as the literary start of September and January, and the end-of-year celebrations.
