This cult pub remains a political issue: BBV city councilor Andreas Rothenberger opened the “Tortuga” on Leonhardplatz, succeeding his committee colleague Florian Weber (The Party).
Fürstenfeldbruck – Mayor Christian Götz, a party friend of the new landlord, and Richard Sturm from the König Ludwig Schlossbrauerei Kaltenberg treated themselves to a sample drink on the first evening.
After the Munich Paulaner brewery recently moved in, the local “Kaltenbergers” have now taken over beer sovereignty again.
Old love
As Münchner Hof, then under the name “Alte Liebe” and finally as “Klubhouse”, the restaurant is one of the oldest in Bruck.
With the new local name, Rothenberger recalls his political past in the Pirate Party: Tortuga is a small privateer island in the Caribbean and translated from Spanish means “turtle”.
The pub logo is shown on Rothenberger's T-shirt: depending on the interpretation, it symbolizes either a turtle or a hop umbel.
On tour
The previous landlord Florian Weber didn't have time to stop by.
While the Tortuga was opening, he was a guest at another Bruck political/gastro family: in the “Ameisenstüberl” of the Free Voters couple Susanne and Markus Droth, Weber moderated his pub quiz, which was born in the “Klubhouse”, with which he is now through various Local tours in the district town.
