The CSU presents a five-point plan for the economy and puts Aiwanger on a short leash: the economics minister should now give an account every six months.

Munich – “We as the CSU parliamentary group in the Bavarian state parliament are convinced: our country can do more,” says an economic paper that the CSU plans to officially present on Wednesday (February 21st).

And what he probably means is: More than Hubert Aiwanger is currently delivering.

Because: With the five-point plan, the CSU is significantly increasing the pressure on the Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs (Free Voters): Aiwanger now has to report regularly.

In the future, he should explain every six months what he is actually doing in his ministry.

The German Press Agency, which had the paper in advance, reported on this.

Thick air in Bavaria's coalition: Söder's CSU and Aiwanger share it against each other

Background to the disciplinary measure: Aiwanger and the CSU are in a clinch.

This recently became all too obvious at the carnival in Veitshöchheim, where Söder appeared stiff and dignified as Reich Chancellor Bismarck and only burst out laughing at a joke about Aiwanger - while Aiwanger's face turned to stone.

There are rivalries everywhere in the coalition, and there are regular arguments about who is responsible for which bankruptcy and which success.

The rumblings in the coalition have also been played out publicly for a few weeks: the reason for this was, among other things, Aiwanger's “demo hopping” (CSU original sound) during the farmers' protests about agricultural diesel.

CSU Prime Minister Markus Söder largely stayed out of it.

But he let CSU parliamentary group leader Klaus Holetschek deal hard against Aiwanger.

Among other things, he mocked him as a “little problem bear”.

Attacks that may also reflect the fear that the Free Voters could steal too many voters from the CSU.

CSU wants to boost renewable energies - but the failures are not just Aiwanger's fault

“We have to greatly accelerate the expansion of renewable energies and, above all, monitor them better,” said CSU state parliamentary group leader Klaus Holetschek about the new CSU economic plan.

Aiwanger's ministry is primarily responsible for energy policy.

According to information from the Münchner Merkur,

he has probably been warned internally

several times.

However, the CSU itself also faces accusations of having blocked the expansion of wind power for years.

In its five-point plan, the CSU parliamentary group calls, among other things, for a targeted location policy for the Free State, a comprehensive foreign trade strategy and numerous well-known demands on the traffic light government.

For example, after tax cuts, an overturning of the combustion engine ban, a reform of citizens' money or a boost in housing construction.

Aiwanger annoys the CSU - Söder annoys the traffic light government

While there is always a fuss about Aiwanger in Bavaria, Söder recently angered the federal government: At the Munich Security Conference, the Bavarian leader was anything but modest, which angered the traffic light government.

Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock is said to have even canceled a networking breakfast out of anger.

The alleged reason: It wasn't she who was supposed to sit next to keynote speaker Hillary Clinton, but rather Söder's Health Minister Judith Gerlach.
