Prime Minister Dreyer emphasizes the importance of the growth package for the economy.
Before the Mediation Committee's discussions on this matter, she urgently appeals to the Union.
Mainz - The Prime Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate, Malu Dreyer, has called on the CDU to agree to the Growth Opportunities Act and to give up its blockade in the mediation committee.
“It is extremely important for the economy that this package is passed today,” the SPD politician told the German Press Agency in Mainz before the mediation committee’s deliberations on Wednesday evening.
“The CDU and CSU will harm the German economy if they do not agree,” said Dreyer.
“The SPD side stands.” The SPD prime ministers and the parliamentary group are in agreement.
“It’s now entirely up to the CDU.”
It is unclear whether the Union is still making the irrelevant demand for further subsidies for agricultural diesel a prerequisite for approval.
Dreyer appealed to the Union not to link topics that have nothing to do with each other.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the Growth Opportunities Act is also an important signal to the economy in the opinion of the German Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Association and the economist Monika Schnitzer.
The economy needs it for research funding and housing construction, for example.
The Mediation Committee of the Bundestag and Bundesrat will discuss the law, which, among other things, provides tax relief for companies, on Wednesday evening.
The Union only wants to agree to the law if the SPD, Greens and FDP forego the planned abolition of the tax break for agricultural diesel for farmers.
