The community of Zorneding has been fighting against the heavy traffic in the town for years.
An expert report should show options for mitigation.
But that brings criticism.

Traffic is a constant issue in Zorneding.
An expensive traffic report has now shown potential measures for the community.
But its implementation is up in the air.
Zorneding – Too much traffic: a constant issue in the community of Zorneding.
A steering group with the participation of the local council has been dealing with the problem for three years; the urban-rural-traffic planning company (PSLV) was commissioned to draw up a traffic concept and presented it to the local council in November (we

).
This resulted in a catalog of measures.
This was now discussed at a special meeting of the local council.
Measures against car traffic difficult to implement: “We didn’t plan that much in the budget”
The Greens in particular pushed for the four-page paper not only to be discussed, but also for concrete measures to finally be adopted.
The first page was about improving traffic safety, especially for pedestrians and cyclists, for example by creating 30 km/h zones, crossing aids or additional bicycle lanes.
After this first of four pages, Mayor Piet Mayr (CSU) wanted to stop.
The problem is that each of these measures has to be checked individually again, which again causes costs.
“We didn’t plan that much in the budget,” warned Mayr.
The report in its current form has already cost over 112,000 euros, which caused criticism in the local council.
Doubts about the feasibility of measures requested by the local council
“There is no information about legal requirements in the concept.
“We didn’t gain anything with it, we just threw away money,” complained Robert Strobl (CSU).
Mayr admitted that there was a lack of concrete information on how to argue with the police and the district office.
In initial feedback, the district authority had already judged the concept to be too general.
Stefan Ballerstaller from the building authority explained that, for example, for there to be a parking time restriction in the area surrounding the train station, there must be an actual lack of parking space according to the road traffic regulations.
For this, another concrete survey is necessary, with a doubtful outcome, since according to the parking space regulations, residents should actually have enough parking spaces on their properties.
There are similar doubts about the feasibility of many of the other measures proposed by the planners.
The local council agrees on certain concepts: costs must now be determined
After a lengthy discussion and many expressions of dissatisfaction with the report, the local councilors finally went through the remaining three pages of the catalog of measures and agreed on a number of concrete measures that, in their eyes, have the highest priority.
The administration was commissioned to determine the costs for each of these measures that a detailed examination in the district administration or road construction office would cause.
Then advice should be given again.
