The Hotel Aigner in Ottobrunn has been closed since autumn.

Now 146 refugees will be accommodated here from March.

Ottobrunn

– The Hotel Aigner in Ottobrunn is conveniently located on Rosenheimer Landstrasse.

“The location is ideal for enjoying the peace and beauty of the surrounding area, while having easy access to the vibrant capital.” This is what the hotel description says online.

The accommodation is now closed.

In the Ottobrunner main committee, Mayor Thomas Loderer referred to the district office's plans to accommodate almost 150 refugees here.

The authority had recently sent out a press release about this.

There was already an on-site visit in January when representatives of the municipality and the district office visited the empty hotel.

Building sold to new owner

The family-run hotel will cease operations in autumn 2023.

Mayor Loderer: “The family has decided not to continue the business.” It was sold to a new owner and rented to the district office.

From March the rooms will be converted.

Up to 146 refugees can find accommodation in the double and shared rooms.

The district office acted in a similar way in the case of the Hotel Pacific a few hundred meters away.

Almost 60 refugees are now accommodated here.

A total of 182 refugees are currently accommodated in Ottobrunn, not including the Hotel Aigner.

No modifications are necessary

No modifications or renovations are necessary in the new building: all rooms are equipped with a bathroom.

The multi-bed rooms have a single kitchen.

An office for refugee advice will be set up on the ground floor.

There is also a shared kitchen, breakfast room and lounge available.

The rental agreement is for five years.

Caritas provides support on site.

Refugees of different nationalities

According to the district office, people of different nationalities who are newly assigned to the district - families and individuals - move into the accommodation.

Who exactly will be accommodated here depends on the allocations from the government of Upper Bavaria.

According to Mayor Loderer, the municipality of Ottobrunn has fundamental difficulties in providing properties due to the small area.

Therefore, considering the number of inhabitants, it is not easy to meet the quota and accept a corresponding number of refugees.

The fact that the Hotel Aigner has ceased operations is initially very bad news.

After the Hotel Pacific, it is the second one in a short time.

“We are simply running out of hotels.” But given the current circumstances, Loderer is ready to agree to a pragmatic solution.

Mayor: So far there have been no problems with refugees in the town

In general, the mayor does not register any problems in connection with refugee accommodation that would manifest themselves in everyday life.

The Asylum Helpers Group in Ottobrunn played a large part in this.

Just like the employees in the social welfare office, who, according to the mayor, organize help effectively.

The topic is very quiet, and Loderer hopes that it will stay that way when people move into the Hotel Aigner.

The Johanniter property is directly opposite.

Years ago, the community entered into a usage agreement with the district office for the installation of containers.

It runs until March 31, 2025. The property would have space for over 200 refugees.

However, containers cannot be delivered.

Nevertheless, the district office is interested in extending the usage agreement.

No decision has yet been made in the community.
