Hunter Biden's lawyers filed nine motions on Tuesday asking a judge to dismiss the charges brought against him by special prosecutor David Weissen in federal court in California last year over his tax returns.
“The special prosecutor has gone to extremes to bring charges against Mr.
Biden that would not have been brought against anyone else,” Hunter Biden's attorney, Abbe Lowell, said in a statement.
“Prosecutors reneged on binding agreements,
bowed to political pressure
to bring unprecedented charges, overstepped their authority, ignored rules and allowed their agents to run amok, and repeatedly misrepresented evidence in court to defend their conduct.”

In court filings, Hunter Biden's lawyers argued that the president's son, Joe Biden, was being targeted for targeted prosecution.
They also argued that the statute of limitations had expired and that there were duplicate charges for the same fiscal year.
