Part of a bridge under construction collapsed in the eastern Netherlands on Wednesday, killing at least two people and injuring two, local authorities said.

The causes of the collapse have not yet been determined.
An investigation has been opened, authorities said.
They initially gave a report of four injured, three of whom were seriously injured.
It is not known whether the two deaths were part of the first toll.
A journalist from the local newspaper
De Stentor
, present on site, said that workers were lifting arches from the bridge when the accident occurred.
“Suddenly there was a huge noise.
The entire arch began to sway.
Then everything fell apart.
We saw two workers fall
,” she said.
