Historical information presented in a modern way, events, city tours or the opportunity to get involved in topics yourself - those interested can now find a lot of information and activities about the Twelve Articles and the “City of Civil Rights” on the new website.
Memmingen - 499 years ago the Twelve Articles were formulated in Memmingen: more freedom, more co-determination and more justice were the demands that are still very relevant today.
If you want to be well informed, you will find a lot of information and offers on the new website of the “City of Freedoms” project office.

An exciting timeline leads through the historical events and provides an overview of the city's history around the year 1525. There is also a lot to learn about the Memmingen Manifesto and the Memmingen Freedom Prize.
If you would like to get a first-hand impression of the city, you will find what you are looking for under the “Freedom in the City” section: historical circular routes invite you to discover the history of the city in the old town and the original locations of the Twelve Articles.
In the “Awards” section you can delve deeper into important topics: Memmingen as a place of democracy in Bavaria or Memmingen as a member of the cross-border EU project “500 Years of Peasants’ War: Freedom Needs Courage”.

The spring program of the “City of Freedom” is currently available.
The wide range of city tours in Memmingen includes the old town tour “Experience Freedom” and a brand new histotainment tour through the city forest “The Maid and the 12 Articles”.
