Highlights: Michaël Aloïsio was the subject of a complaint for favoritism and influence peddling. The National Financial Prosecutor's Office (PNF) announced that it had closed this complaint on January 18. “The elements exploited did not make it possible to suspect an attack on the principles of equal treatment of candidates, transparency of procedures or freedom of access to public procurement,” specified the PNF. The organization of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, intended to be “exemplary” by the president of the organizing committee Tony Estanguet, is currently the subject to four separate financial investigations.

Deputy Director General of the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Cojo), Michaël Aloïsio was the subject of a complaint for favoritism and influence peddling, filed on August 23.

The complainant, Sébastien Chesbeuf, a former employee of Cojo with whom he is in conflict, denounced the conditions for awarding a public contract issued in 2023 by the Paca region to constitute its pre-candidacy file for the 2030 Winter Olympics.

This Wednesday, the National Financial Prosecutor's Office (PNF) announced that it had closed this complaint on January 18.

“The elements exploited did not make it possible to suspect an attack on the principles of equal treatment of candidates, transparency of procedures or freedom of access to public procurement, nor of influence peddling,” specified the PNF.

“This decision to dismiss the complaint was expected: it was necessary in the face of a totally fanciful and slanderous complaint,” said Michaël Aloïsio's lawyer, Me Julie Fabreguettes.

The organization of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, intended to be “exemplary” by the president of the organizing committee Tony Estanguet, is currently the subject of four separate financial investigations, relating in particular to the remuneration of the latter or to suspicions of favoritism when awarding contracts.

In particular, the markets for the opening ceremony, scheduled for July 26, 2024 on the Seine in Paris, or that of the Olympic torch relay are analyzed.
