Less than two days after the events, the 19-year-old young man behind the refusal to comply followed by an accident in Paray-Vieille-Poste, was placed in pre-trial detention by a judge of the Évry court. Courcouronnes, this Tuesday February 20.

During the night from Sunday to Monday, the suspect was driving a car when he left the police who wanted to check him.

The driver then lost control and violently collided with two stationary vehicles.

His front passenger, a 17-year-old teenager, seriously injured, was hospitalized with a life-threatening prognosis.

The driver is now indicted in connection with this case.

“A judicial investigation into the counts of aggravated refusal to comply and aggravated involuntary injuries has been opened,” specifies the prosecution.

The suspect, moreover, was driving without a valid license.

His young front passenger is still hospitalized in serious condition.

He suffered injuries to his spine and hip.

Suspect denies stealing car

Both were in a Peugeot 308 on Sunday night, and at least one of them was wearing a balaclava and gloves.

Is this why a police patrol wanted to check the vehicle and its occupants, then on the Nationale 7?

Still, the 308 suddenly changed trajectory at the sight of the flashing lights, plunging into the streets of Paray-Vieille-Poste.

After about a minute of chasing, the fugitive hit two cars parked on rue Pasteur at high speed.

Placed in police custody, the young man denied outright: “He claimed that he was not at the wheel of the 308 and claimed that he was sleeping on the seat when the accident took place,” relates a source close to the case.

This is not the version of the police, who saw the driver slip into the back of the Peugeot to exit through the trunk, just after the impact, leaving his passenger in a sorry state in the front...

Based in Athis-Mons, the 19-year-old young man had already been arrested in the past following a refusal to comply.

Investigations are continuing to establish exactly what happened that night.

The Juvisy police station is responsible for the investigation.
