The clear answer is: yes.
While many social media trends are just hot air, rosemary oil actually works.
Rosemary has always been known as a medicinal plant.
Even in ancient Rome, the herb was used specifically to combat hair loss.
The natural oil is extracted from the leaves and flowers.
It has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant effects and promotes blood circulation.
This also improves the oxygen supply.
This stimulates hair follicles and promotes thicker and faster hair growth.
The essential oil is more in demand than ever on TikTok and Instagram because it has a wide range of effects on the hair and scalp:
Hair growth booster
Less hair loss
Stronger hair
Stronger scalp
Less itching and dandruff
Hair loss can have various causes: While in women it is usually due to hormonal fluctuations, in men it is often genetically determined.
Although rosemary oil cannot solve the cause, it can have a positive effect on hair growth.
It also has a calming effect on dry and irritated scalps.
It maintains the natural balance, resulting in less dandruff.
Because the oil regulates the scalp's sebum production, the hair becomes greasy much more slowly.
This means your hair needs to be washed less often and has more time to recover between washes.
My hair has been breaking off constantly since my last bleaching and the oil really saved my hair!

How do you use rosemary oil?
The application is simple.
Simply add ten drops of rosemary oil per 300ml of shampoo to your shampoo bottle.
Then wash your hair as usual.
You can also apply rosemary oil directly to the scalp.
To do this, mix a few drops of the essential oil with a teaspoon of cold-pressed olive oil.
Then massage this mixture into your scalp and leave it on for a few hours.
Finally, the oil is rinsed out thoroughly.
Homemade rosemary conditioner for your hair: this is how it works
A rinse with rosemary leaves helps against dandruff.
To do this, pour one liter of boiling water over four to five rosemary leaves.
Cover the tea and let it steep for about ten minutes.
When the infusion has cooled and is only lukewarm, pour it through a sieve.
Then you can knead the conditioner into your hair and massage your scalp with it.
Important: do not rinse!
How do I make rosemary oil for hair?
You can buy the essential oil ready-made or simply make it yourself.
All you need are a few ingredients:
1/2 handful of dried rosemary sprigs
100 ml vegetable oil, e.g.
B. Olive oil
a clean jar with a screw cap
coffee filter
First you have to chop up the rosemary sprigs and put them in a clean screw-top jar.
Pour olive oil over the branches and let the mixture steep at room temperature for three to four weeks.
Avoid direct sunlight and shake the jar occasionally.
Once the oil has been steeped, you can pour it through the coffee filter to separate it from the plant parts.
Ideally, you should then pour it into a dark glass bottle.
The homemade rosemary oil is ready.
What do I have to consider when using rosemary oil?
Before using it for the first time, do a tolerance test.
To do this, place a dab of rosemary oil on the skin behind the ear and observe the area.
If a rash or skin irritation occurs, the oil is not suitable for you.
It can take weeks or even months for the desired effect to occur.
So be patient and use rosemary oil regularly.
When should you not use rosemary oil?
Do not use rosemary oil if you are pregnant.
It can trigger premature labor.
The oil is also not suitable for babies, small children and asthmatics.
