A chemistry experiment led to the evacuation of the Weilheim high school on Wednesday morning.
Nobody got hurt.
Weilheim - The fire alarm was triggered at the Weilheim high school today at 8:15 a.m.
As school principal Andreas Pauline Martin informed, the cause was an experiment in a chemistry lesson in which a small magnesium ribbon was ignited as part of the experiment.
“This common test, which is carried out as standard, results in a slight development of smoke, which this time triggered the fire alarm.
“The chemistry teacher acted absolutely compliantly and followed all safety regulations at all times,” she said.
The evacuation by the school was exemplary and the fire brigade was on site within a few minutes.
“At no time was there any danger to our student body or staff, as everyone acted very responsibly,” said Martin.
