Live broadcast from the Knesset plenum: vote on a statement against a unilateral move to recognize a Palestinian state (Knesset channel)

Today (Wednesday) the Knesset approved by a majority of 99 the Prime Minister's statement regarding opposition to the unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state, which was approved by the government earlier this week.
This is a purely declarative move, which was born in the background of reports on discussions on the subject in the American administration, and is intended to convey to the international community that there is a consensus in Israel against unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state.
Netanyahu passed the declaration unanimously in the government, with the support of the ministers of the state camp, and later he decided to bring it to the Knesset for approval, in the same version.
The wording of the statement:
"Israel outright rejects international dictates regarding the permanent settlement with the Palestinians. Such a settlement will only be achieved through direct negotiations between the parties, without preconditions."
It is also written that "Israel will continue to oppose unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state. Such recognition, following the massacre of October 7, will give a huge reward to terrorism, a reward like no other, and will prevent any future peace settlement."

"Your weakness is guilt"
Opposition leader Yair Lapid spoke before the vote in the Knesset plenum, and attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"If your claim is that you are a weak prime minister who doesn't know how to make things happen, doesn't know how to impose your will on the systems - then your weakness is a fault," said Lapid.
"When they say that Hamas is deterred - you are responsible. When children are murdered and girls are raped by Hamas - you disappear. When a truck is bombed in Syria - you are responsible. When tens of thousands of Israelis are evacuated from their homes on the northern border - you disappear," criticized Lapid harshly.
"It's a great method, it just won't work. Because you're the boss, and you're to blame and you have to go home."
