“We have to think about how we can make the club more attractive again.”

This is the appeal of the Zollingen KSV chairman due to dwindling membership numbers.

Zolling

– Georg Völkl came up with a treat for the annual general meeting on Sunday.

The chairman of the Zolling Warriors and Soldiers Association had put the screening of a special film on the agenda.

For the anniversary last year, a drone was launched into the sky to document the event from a lofty height.

The resulting film was now shown at the meeting in the Hörhammer inn.

Of course, Völkl was a little disappointed that only a few members had found their way to the Hörhammer inn.

“We have to think about how we can make the club more attractive again.” Is a renaming to a warrior, soldier and citizens’ association the right way?

Völkl said he wanted to make further inquiries about this.

Changes to the KSV's statutes are intended to gain new sympathy

A possible change to the statutes could help to gain new sympathy.

Völkl wants to ensure that long-standing members who suffer from dementia or other age-related illnesses and are in care are not required to pay the membership fee.

However, no decision was made on this at the meeting.

The chairman announced that this would be discussed at the next meeting.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

However, the members unanimously agreed that the membership fee would now be increased from the current 15 euros annually to 25 euros.

“Everything is getting more expensive,” said Völkl.

In this way, one could at least maintain the “freedom of carousing” at the annual Warrior Anniversary Day in November.

Hope for a grant for the maintenance of the war memorial

The war memorial on Freisinger Straße should remain a beautiful part of the villagescape.

Thanks to a grant from the municipality of Zolling, the anniversary celebration was able to be managed well financially, said Völkl.

The chairman now wants further support in the maintenance of the war memorial.

We are in negotiations with the town hall.

The association takes care of the memorial plaque that was erected in the church for those who died in the world wars, said Völkl and thanked the members.

As part of the board election, the “old” management team was reconfirmed.

Georg Völkl remains the first chairman, and the members appointed Josef Wöhrl Jr. as vice-chairman.

The cashier is Eduard Herrler and the secretary is Danielpfadenhauer.
