Village romance in Baden-Württemberg: The smallest community in the state may not have many residents, but it does have some special features to offer.

Böllen - It's an idyllic location, surrounded by nature, forests and lush greenery: Böllen, a tranquil village in the Lörrach district, is a beautiful place.

With just 100 inhabitants, the community in the Black Forest is considered the smallest in Baden-Württemberg.

But be careful: there is more to this place than you would expect at first glance.

What is remarkable about Böllen is, on the one hand, the difference in height within the community.

The district ranges from 585 meters up to 1,300 meters - a difference of 715 meters.

Very few communities in the Black Forest can boast height differences of this magnitude.

Böllen is located on the southeast slope of the Belchen – one of the most beautiful mountains in the Black Forest.

Small but mighty: Böllen, the village of strong men

If you want to celebrate a party with all the residents of Böllen, you don't have to rent a hall: the 100 residents of Baden-Württemberg's smallest community fit into 33 square meters - i.e. in a standard one-room apartment.

This emerges from a recent press release from the State Statistical Office, which attempted to illustrate population data in an unusual way.

The calculation assumes that three people stand per square meter.

State statistics: Not always as dry as expected

Pure idyll: You can endure it in Böllen in the Black Forest.

In its unusual presentation of population statistics, the State Statistical Office also calculated that all of the state's residents could fit on a single island in Baden-Württemberg.

It becomes clear: Statistics does not always have to be dry.

The smallest municipality in terms of inhabitants should not be confused with the smallest municipality in terms of area in Baden-Württemberg, which
